To lower the spline to the staging height on the East end, I had two options; notch the spline where it crossed the benchwork, or notch the benchwork. I chose the latter, using my oscillating saw to create accurate notches. Each successive notch going away from the camerais a bit shallower; I was shooting for a 1% or less grade up to base level.
