Initially, I'd planned to leave the layout plan in place. However, the overlap between sheets of paper were thick enough to cause some problems when I was laying track, so I began pulling it out from under the newly laid track.
A better approach would have been to transfer the plan to the Homasote prior to beginning any track work.
